How to get your store found in Google and AI assistants

A practical checklist for getting your online store found in Google and AI assistants: clear products, a product feed, answer-first pages, FAQs and reviews.

The morebasket team ·

To get your store found in Google and AI assistants, make every product and page clear, accurate and easy to quote: precise titles, honest descriptions, a product feed, answer-first pages, real FAQs and genuine reviews. Nobody can guarantee placement, and ordinary search basics are still the foundation.

Can anyone guarantee that Google or an AI assistant will show your store?

No. Search engines and AI assistants decide for themselves, and none of them publishes a formula. Be wary of anyone who sells guaranteed rankings or guaranteed AI mentions.

Here is what is reasonably clear. Google has said that appearing in its AI answers needs no special extra requirements beyond being indexed and eligible to show a snippet, and that special AI text files or special markup are not required. In other words, classic search basics are the base. AI answers tend to reuse the same kind of pages that search already trusts.

So the plan is not a trick. It is clear pages, accurate data and a good reputation, done steadily.

How do you write product titles and descriptions that get understood?

Both search engines and AI systems read your words. Give them something specific.

  • Title: put the product type first, then the details that people search for, such as material, size or color. “Waxed canvas tote bag, 12 oz, olive” beats “The Voyager”.
  • Description: start with what it is and who it suits. Add measurements, materials, care and what is included.
  • Consistency: use the same product name everywhere you list it.
  • No filler: “high quality” says nothing. A fact does.

Our guide on writing product descriptions with AI shows a way to draft and review these. The SEO agent in the AI workforce can also take on SEO copy, and you decide what runs automatically and what needs your approval. You remain the judge of what is accurate.

Should you send your products to Google and Meta?

Yes, if you want your products visible beyond your own site. morebasket serves a product feed from your catalog that works with Google Shopping and Meta catalogs. The plan list on the pricing page puts it on the Pro plan, along with other selling tools. Step by step instructions are in send your products to Google and Meta, and the sales channels page lists where else you can sell.

A feed is only as good as your catalog. Fix titles, photos, prices and availability first.

How do you make pages easy for answer engines to quote?

AI assistants often lift a short passage and paste it into an answer. Write so that a passage still makes sense on its own.

  1. Answer first. Put a direct answer of about 40 to 60 words at the top of a guide or category page.
  2. Use question and task headings. “How long does delivery take?” works better than “Shipping”.
  3. Keep paragraphs short. One idea each.
  4. Use lists and small tables for comparisons, sizes and steps.
  5. State specific facts. Dimensions, materials, delivery areas and return windows, only where they are true for you.
  6. Name things plainly. Use the same words your customers use.

What about structured information?

Structured information means labeling parts of a page, such as price, availability and reviews, in a way machines read directly. Many themes and platforms add some of it for you. We do not claim that morebasket generates this markup for you, so if it matters to you, check your live pages with Google’s free testing tools and ask a developer if something is missing.

Whatever the markup, the visible page must show the same facts. Never mark up information that customers cannot see.

Do FAQs still help?

They help people, which is the main reason to write them. Google no longer shows FAQ rich results in search, so do not add FAQs to chase a special display. Add them because customers ask those questions.

Good FAQ habits:

  • Use the exact words customers use.
  • Answer in the first sentence, then add detail.
  • Cover delivery, returns, sizing, care and payment.
  • Keep to real questions from emails and messages.

Does freshness matter?

For many topics, yes. Pages with a visible, honest “last updated” date help readers trust them. Update dates only when you really change something, such as a price, a policy or a size chart. A fresh date on unchanged content does not help anyone.

How do reviews help?

Reviews give shoppers confidence, and they add real words about your products from real buyers. morebasket collects ratings on products, and you moderate them and reply as the shop in your admin. Each review is tied to an order, so it comes from someone who bought the product. Whether your storefront theme displays reviews is worth checking before you rely on them. See reviews. Reply to the good and the bad, and never invent or buy reviews.

Does being listed elsewhere matter?

Probably more than any on-site change. Search systems and AI assistants look for agreement across the web. Helpful ways to build that:

  • Keep your shop name and description the same everywhere.
  • List your shop in relevant directories and marketplaces.
  • Ask customers for honest reviews on public sites.
  • Get mentioned by bloggers, creators and local groups who really like your products.

You cannot fix this from your own site alone, and it takes time.

What does the basic checklist look like?

Area Check
Products Specific titles, factual descriptions, clear photos, correct prices
Feed Catalog sent to Google and Meta, and kept current
Pages Direct answer at the top, question headings, short paragraphs
FAQs Real questions, answered in the first sentence
Dates Updated only when content really changes
Reviews Genuine, moderated and answered
Presence Consistent name and listings elsewhere
Basics Fast, mobile-friendly, secure pages

How long does it take?

Expect weeks to months, and progress that is hard to measure precisely. Watch your own numbers, such as visits from search and orders, rather than promises from tools. Change a few things at a time so you know what helped.
